Dante Alighieri, also known as Duante, was a Florentine poet in the Middle Ages. He was known as the father of the Italian language. It is thought that he studied law at home and studied Tuscan poetry at the time of the Sicilian School. Dante found the Occitiona poetry of the troubadours and Latin poetry of classical antiquity. Dante became a pharmacist because he was forced to do something in a more polical field, but he truly wanted to write.
